Golden Inspires Foundation in collaboration with the Yendi Community Information Centre (CIC), celebrated the International Day of Girls in ICT on Friday, May 17th, 2024. The training was aimed at empowering young female students with basic skills in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Digital Technology.
The event, which took place at the Yendi Community Information Centre, brought together 60 female students from various high schools in the Yendi Municipality. These participants were provided with an invaluable opportunity to gain hands-on experience and practical knowledge in the field of ICT.

The training was facilitated under the guidance of the STEM & Gender Officer, Madam Taqkiyatu Akilu at GIF-Ghana and other ICT facilitators from the Yendi Community Information Centre, the students were introduced to fundamental concepts of computer literacy, including navigating software applications, internet usage, and digital tools. The training session aimed to bridge the gender gap in technology and equip young girls with the necessary skills to thrive in today’s digital age.
The participants were overwhelmed with excitement with the opportunity to access computers and receive real practical knowledge from the training. For many of them, it was a first-time experience, and they expressed gratitude for the opportunity to learn and expand their horizons.
