Golden Inspires Foundation on Monday, August 11, 2025, officially kickstart the second quarter of its project, Promotion of Menstrual Health and Advocacy for Female Leadership in Schools and Rural Communities, at Zosimli Girls JHS Model in the Tamale Metropolis. The week-long engagement continued with follow-up sessions at Choggu Demonstration JHS on Tuesday, August 12, and Sunnia JHS and Kumbungu D/A JHS on Wednesday, August 13, 2025.The project is funded by the KGL Foundation and implemented by Golden Inspires Foundation, seeks to empower young aspiring female leaders by equipping them with menstrual health education, leadership skills, and menstrual management kits.

These interventions are designed to enable adolescent girls to remain in school with dignity, confidence, and resilience during their menstrual periods. Currently, the project covers five schools across three Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs), namely Tamale Metro, Sagnarigu, and Kumbungu. The beneficiary schools include Zosimli JHS in Tamale, Sunnia JHS in Kumbungu, Choggu Demonstration JHS in Sagnarigu, Kumbungu D/A JHS, and Narung JHS in Sagnarigu.Despite schools being on break during the period, the commitment and support of dedicated teacher patrons ensured that GIF-Ghana able to bring together beneficiaries for these impactful sessions.


The engagements revisited key learnings on menstrual management and confidence-building, while also addressing broader themes such as effective communication, leadership, personal hygiene, career development, goal setting, and team building. Through interactive discussions, the girls were encouraged to embrace their potential, nurture their leadership ambitions, and make informed decisions about their futures.In addition to the knowledge-sharing sessions, GIF-Ghana also distributed reusable sanitary pads and other menstrual management kits to participants.

These donations are intended not only to support menstrual hygiene but also to help reduce absenteeism and dropout rates among adolescent girls due to period-related challenges.The successful continuation of the project’s second quarter reaffirms Golden Inspires Foundation’s commitment to creating safe, supportive, and empowering environments for girls in rural communities and schools. By combining education, advocacy, and practical support, the initiative continues to champion menstrual health as a critical pathway to gender equality and female leadership development in Ghana.
